Anthony G. “Tony” Tranka, 60, of Dixon, died Thursday, January 17, 2013, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. He was a foreman at Flex-O-Glass, Dixon, for 41 years. Tony was born September 20, 1952, in Amboy, IL, the son of Anthony Otto and Sydonia (Hajek) Tranka. He married Brenda Edwards on July 6, 1976, in Dixon. Anthony was an excellent builder and problem solver and liked inventing things. He enjoyed gardening, going to tractor pulls, and watching professional wrestling.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Tranka; two sons, Brian Tranka, Tony Tranka, all of Amboy; two sisters, Maggie (Randy) Hardin of Dixon, Kathy Mungor of Walnut; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Jones, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Dixon, officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery, Amboy.

A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association.
