Lois M. Williams

Lois M. Williams, the daughter of Charles and Clara Williams, was born at Mendota, IL, August 28, 1927.

Her elementary and secondary education were in the Mendota, IL, area. She was a graduate of Taylor University at Upland, Indiana, and also attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

Lois was a teacher most of her life, starting in 1949, in a one room country school and then moving to Wyoming where she worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship for nine years. She also taught second grade for three years at a public school on the Wind River Indian Reservation.

In 1961, she returned to Illinois and taught second grade for twenty eight years in the Dixon Public Schools. She retired in 1989.

Since retirement she had done volunteer work for Child Evangelism Fellowship in various ministries and places.

Lois was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church for 36 years and attended the Bethel Church in recent years.

She is survived by several cousins.

Visitation will be from 1 – 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, followed by a 2:00 p.m., funeral service with the Rev. Robert Hollowell, former pastor of Community Alliance Church, Dixon, officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota, at a later date.

A memorial has been established to Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church, Dixon
