Helen Mae Ehlers, 86, of Dixon, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Oregon Healthcare in Oregon, IL. She worked on the family farm.

Helen was born June 2, 1926, in Polo, IL, the daughter of Leo W. and Velma (Schoen) Irving. She married Christian “Chris” Ehlers on September 14, 1946, in DeKalb. He preceded her in death. Helen loved and cared for many children as a babysitter. She also loved animals and fine jewelry.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Irving.

Private funeral services will be at a later date.
