Frances L. Pitzer

Frances L. (Otto) Pitzer, 81, of Dixon, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Lifehouse Liberty Court, Dixon. She worked at Western Auto, Branson Electric, and Shopko, prior to her retirement.

Frances was born February 23, 1931, in Dixon, IL, the daughter of Harry G. and Alice E. (Beede) Otto. She married George Emmanuel Pitzer Jr. on July 16, 1950, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1997. Frances was a life-long member of St. James E.C. Church, Dixon, member Palmyra Grange 1912, and former member of Mi Di Na Homemakers Extension.

Survivors include two brothers, Richard Otto of Eldena, James (Charlotte) Otto of Chillicothe, OH; two sisters, Ollie Bernardin of Rochelle, Alice Marie Bowers of Ashton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bobby” Pitzer; her parents; and one brother, Charles Otto.

Visitation will be from 4 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at St. James E.C. Church, Dixon, with the Rev. John Ewing, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon.

Memorials have been established to St. James E.C. Church and Lifehouse Liberty Court Assisted Living.
