Betty Dimmig

Betty Marie Dimmig, 93, of Dixon, died Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Polo.

Betty was born July 23, 1919, in Portland Township, Whiteside County, IL, the daughter of Aldis and Emma (Breusch) Siperly. She married Donald Charles Dimmig on November 12, 1938, in Clinton, IA. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1998. Betty was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Amboy. She was a devoted wife and mother, cherished aunt, sister, and grandmother, who always put her family first. Betty never had an unkind word toward anyone and had a strong faith in the Lord. She will be missed by her family and her friends who adored her.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Dimmig of Sterling, Allen (Lynn) Dimmig of Glendale, AZ, Michael (Caryl) Dimmig of Walnut; six daughters, Donna (Lars) Jensen of Rock Falls, Tresa (Ken) Long of Oregon, Renee (John Waters) Murphy, Lana (David) Ackert, Marsha (Stan) Quaco, Debbi (David Considine) Whites, all of Dixon; one brother, Larry (Shirley) Siperly of Rock Falls; 29 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sons, Jerry, Donald Jr., and Danny Joe Dimmig; eight brothers and sisters, Aldis, Charlotte, Carol, Gerald, Richard, Bob, Norville, and John; one grandson; and two great granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 1 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home with the Rev. John Kalebaugh, pastor of the Refuge Church, Amboy, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amboy and Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Polo.
