Curtis E. Sprague, 64, of Dixon, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Ogle County Serenity Home, Oregon. Curt was born August 26, 1947, in LaCrosse, WI. He was the son of August and Margaret (Butterfield) Sprague. He married Joan Payne on March 20, 1970, in Dixon.
Curt was a foreman for Asplundh Tree Service prior to his retirement on September 9, 2011. He was a member of Local 9 IBEW for 45 years. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan along with being a proud owner of two muscle cars, 69 Chevy Nova and a 79 Camaro.
Survivors include his wife Joan; two sons, Tony (Jennifer) Sprague both of Dixon, Nick (Stephanie) Sprague of Franklin Grove; one brother, Clifford Sprague of Watauga, TX; two sisters, Barb Bray of Amboy, Sharon (Leo) Stage of Prescott Valley, AZ; three grandchildren, Bailey Snyder, Austin Sprague, Jersey Sprague; special niece Brittany Schwarz, and other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Patricia Willenberg.
Visitation will be from 2 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2011, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with family present from 2 – 4:00 and 6 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Turning Point Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Don Beasley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Ogle County Hospice Serenity Home, Oregon.
